For this residential development in the heart of Augsburg, gmsvision created a hybrid architecture film that combines real drone footage with precise 3D animation. From the very beginning, the goal was not simply to show a building. Instead, the film aims to convey what it feels like to live in the city center — surrounded by history, movement and everyday urban life.
Urban Architecture Film Showing Location and City Context
First of all, the central challenge was to represent the location convincingly. Leonsheart is situated close to Augsburg’s historic landmarks, including the cathedral and city hall. Therefore, the architectural film places strong emphasis on the surrounding urban fabric rather than isolating the building.
By combining real aerial footage with digital elements, the project remains visually anchored in reality. As a result, viewers gain a clear understanding of scale, orientation and neighborhood character.
Hybrid Architecture Film with Drone Footage
In order to achieve this level of realism, gmsvision worked extensively with drone footage. Camera movements, lighting conditions and perspectives were carefully analyzed and later matched with 3D animation. Consequently, architecture and real city footage merge seamlessly.
